- "The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell
Mountain is a towering majestic wine. Rich, powerful and yet massively
tannic, the 2013 possesses a stunning combination of super-ripe fruit,
bright acids and plenty of supporting structure. In the early going, the
Howell Mountain is a bit reticent, especially next to the Trailer, but
after several hours, the vibrancy of the Howell Mountain bottling
dazzles. Dunn's Howell Mountain Cabernet is without question one of the
wines of the great 2013 vintage." - Dunn Vineyards

"Tannic, tight and demanding time, but it
should be worth the wait, for all that ripe cassis, blackberry and lead pencil.
Powerful, intense, and fresh with a crisp bite of mountain Cabernet Sauvignon
in the endnote. "

"A bright and fragrant red with
blueberries and blackcurrants. Flowers, too. Full body,
super-integrated tannins and a fabulous finish. Seamless and refined. Needs
three or four years to soften but already a beauty."
2015 Dunn Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon

“ Coming from tiny
yields and a hotter vintage, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain is a
much more up-front, sweetly fruited, sexy wine compared to the more brooding,
Bordeaux-like 2014, although there’s no shortage of structure and tannins in
this 2015. Giving up a great nose of kirsch liqueur, blackcurrants, sandalwood,
sweet tobacco, and exotic spices, this beauty hits the palate with full-bodied
richness, a layered, elegant texture, beautiful overall balance, and a great
finish. There’s just a subtle firmer edge to the tannins here, which is common
in the vintage, that I suspect will always be there, but the fruit is
beautifully pure, it has remarkable sweetness (ripeness, not residual sugar),
great balance, and it’s just a singular wine in the lineup. “
